Gemix is a cascading video slot from Play'n GO, featuring a vibrant 7x7 grid. The game operates on 20 paylines and allows players to set their bets between £0.10 and £5.00. To form winning combinations, players need to connect five or more matching symbols in clusters, linked horizontally or vertically. When a winning cluster forms, those symbols are removed, and new ones drop down, filling the gaps to potentially create additional wins within each game round.

How to Play Gemix

  1. Adjust your bet using the plus and minus buttons at the bottom of the game screen, or select from five preset bet amounts. Bets can range from £0.10 to £5.00.
  2. Press the START button to begin a round with the chosen bet.
  3. Symbols cascade onto the 7x7 grid. Winning clusters of five or more connected symbols will be removed, allowing new symbols to fall and fill the grid.
  4. The round continues with cascading wins until there are no more new winning combinations.
  5. Any prize is determined by the symbols shown according to the paytable, which can be viewed at any time during gameplay.

Cluster Wins and Cascading Reels

To secure a win, connect at least five identical symbols in a cluster, touching either horizontally or vertically. Winning symbols are cleared and replaced by new ones, which can lead to successive wins in one spin. The round ends when no further clusters are formed.

Special Game Features

Crystal Charge Meter

Each win during a game round adds to the crystal charge meter. Once the meter is fully charged and there are no further cascades, one of four crystal charge effects is activated:

  • Chain Lightning: Opposite corner symbols create an electrical arc, transforming all symbols hit by the arc into one of the corner symbols.
  • Light Beam: A chosen symbol emits beams vertically and horizontally. All symbols in those rows and columns are transformed to other symbols.
  • Crystal Warp: One symbol is chosen; it and all identical symbols on the grid are transformed into other symbols.
  • Nova Blast: A selected symbol explodes, removing adjacent symbols in a large blast. The area then retracts, leaving a core consisting of identical symbols.

After a crystal charge effect, the game resumes as normal, allowing for possible further cascades and effects.

Super Charge

If you obtain enough symbol wins and fully super charge the crystal charge meter before cascades end, all wins achieved so far and subsequent wins in that round are multiplied by three. Super Charge can only happen once per round.

Progression Through Worlds and Patterns

  • Gemix has multiple worlds, each with three unique patterns.
  • Your current active pattern is displayed on-screen. Completing a pattern requires forming wins on specific grid positions indicated by the pattern.
  • Clearing a pattern unlocks the next one in the current world. Completing three patterns in a world advances you to the next world and awards a World Bonus, which increases with any win in that round.

World-Specific Wild Symbols

Each world features its own special wild symbol, which appears on non-winning spins to help create new clusters. Wilds substitute for any other symbol and are cleared if they contribute to a win. Each wild functions differently depending on the world:

  • Miner's World: Up to 10 wilds can drop from above, replacing regular symbols.
  • Princess' World: A wild starts at a chosen edge symbol and spreads to adjacent symbols until it reaches an edge of the grid.
  • Wizard's World: Up to 8 sticky wilds can appear and remain fixed for one round or until the Crystal Charge is triggered, without dropping or being cleared as part of any win.

Unfinished Games and Malfunctions

  • If your game is interrupted, all current information and placed bets are stored until the game is reopened.
  • You can resume any unfinished round from where it left off. Bets left undecided in incomplete games will expire and be donated to charity after 90 days.
  • In the event of a malfunction, all pays and plays for that round are voided.
